When designing the cover for the telecommunications server, the Grid team faced the task of giving the strictly technical device a light, modern look. This simple task at first glance was complicated by numerous technical requirements. The server had strictly defined dimensions, we had no influence on the layout of slots and disk bays. That is why we focused on strong, but minimalist means of expression – smooth surfaces, single-color colors in black or white, the illuminated logo fits in with the current design trends, constitutes a bright accent and attracts attention. To clean the front surface of the server from all technical openings that do not need to be accessible during normal operation of the device, we used plastic masking panels mounted on magnets. The layout of the panels results from the design of the server, in a discreet way enlivens the body of the device, gives it a light and elegant look. The fastening system allows for easy handling.
